The Nightshift Belongs to the Stars” and “Follow Me” screened at the 19th Annual Palm Springs International ShortFest  (June 18-24, 2012)

Italy participated in the 19th Annual Palm Springs International ShortFest that began on June 18th with two short films. “Follow Me” by Matteo Tondini was cheered at the festival on June 22.  The film tells an inventive tale that played with the audience's perceptions of reality as the main characters, Chiara and Michael, lead the public on an odyssey through time and space. On June 23rd “The Nightshift Belongs to the Stars” by Edoardo Ponti told the story of Matteo, a passionate mountain climber, and Sonia, a married woman also in love with mountains, set out to fulfill a promise on the jagged edges of the Dolomites that they made to each other months before while awaiting life-changing surgeries. Intent on testing their new hearts together, they have left Sonia's husband Mark out of their plans to create a new beginning.
The Palms Springs International ShortFest, at its 19th edition, is one of the most important appointments of its kind in North America, thanks also to its growing commercial aspect. A “Short Film Market” was added to the Festival, as an important meeting point of international operatives in the field of short films.
Italian participation was made possible thanks also to the cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles.
